Carpobrotus Rossii - PIG FACEApparently these very pretty coastal creepers are meant to resemble that of a Pigs Face. I was told one would need a very good imagination too be able to see the resemblance. I guess after all these years of my thinking I was able to conjure up just about anything in my mind. I really am quite boring!
They are found quite readily along the beaches here in Australia, though we only have 4 species out of the possible 26+ Don't you think they are just the prettiest thing on the beach! Other than me of course! :P

Sounds like what I've met out this way called "ice plant". I've no idea why they call it that (and don't know the latin to be sure its the same), but it sounds like it thrives in similar conditions to what I've seen it in here (tho it's to be catalog purchased...not wild hereabouts, yet, at least...).
Pretty little thing, tho! Does this mean you've been to the beach?
